A Little About Me.
My name is Evangelia but everyone knows me as Angela Machete,
I am an Adelaide (Australia) based visual Artist, photographer and poet. I am currently studying Creative writing at Uni SA as of 2018. One of my passions is photography, I love the traditional style of black and white film, Polaroids and hand-colouring. I mostly photograph, portraits of animals and people and roller derby and I have done some light painting. I enjoy documentary style photography and capturing the moments happening in front of me when people don't notice me and my camera. I studied photography at the Center For Creative Photography here in South Australia, where I got both my Certificate Four in Photo-imaging and my Diploma in Photo-imaging. I am currently studying at Uni SA for my Bachelor English and Creative Writing. (Hand-colouring is the process of manually adding colour to a black and white photograph using paints, inks, food colouring and or pencils etc. I personally use colouring in pencils.) |
I am also passionate about my writing, specifically writing poetry and as of the start of 2017 have been showing it more to people and writing more.
I relalise my spelling and grammar are not great and this has caused some people to judge me studying writing. But I am passionate and my writing has got lots of positive and encouraging feedback. I will learn better spelling and grammar as I study. I believe I have a unique style and perspective with all my creative work. |
I have had four exhibitions of my photographic work:
* My first solo exhibition was called "loloothia" and was during the 2009 Adelaide Fringe Festival, * Then I co-exhibited with fellow artist Missy Polson with "Hroma" during the 2010 Adelaide Fringe Festival, * My second solo exhibition was "The Peoples Car" and was during the 2010 SALA Festival, * My forth exhibition and 3rd solo show was "Male Female Disabled" in 2011 Adelaide Fringe Festival. "Male Female Disabled" was nominated for The Adelaide Fringe Festival Award for Best Visual Art Emerging 2011 and received special commendation. |
